(TITC) – Quang Yen is known not only for tourism potentials with beautiful landscapes but also traditional custom with unique festivals and craft villages. In addition, the diversity of local seafood, history and culture are advantages to promote countryside ecotourism in Quang Yen.

Visiting Phong Coc (Quang Yen Town), visitors will travel by boats about 45 minutes to contemplate the scenery of villages and paddy fields as well as to discover daily living in Ha Nam Island. Visitors can visit Dinh Coc – a big ancient communal house of Viet Nam with unique sculptural architecture of Vietnamese villages in the 18th century. Visitors will also have chance to listen to local folk songs and enjoy local special cuisine. Furthermore, tourists can visit traditional craft families who make basket boats and wooden boats… in Nam Hoa and Phong Hai wards.
Presently, Quang Yen has developed 3 routes and 11 spots to serve tourists, especially European cruise tourists and domestic trippers. Since Oct. 2013, Quang Yen welcomed 120 international delegations with 1,586 arrivals. Therefore, to attract more tourists to Quang Yen, the locality should enhance to upgrade infrastructure, high quality tourist accommodations; develop tour discovering mangroves forest within 45 minutes by boats; develop and preserve the system of flora and fauna, mangroves forest; widen tourism space to introduce unique culture of the locality.
The initial remarkable results of local tourism development have been achieved thanks to the attention and direction of the provincial authorities and the participation of the local communities. The province also has issued many policies to support local households engaging in tourist activities and making products to sell to tourists… In addition, to raise local people’s awareness, the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also held training courses on community-based tourism for local residents.
To promote Quang Yen tourism, the Town has coordinated with tourism companies to advertise tourist products such as “Quang Yen Village” and “Bach Dach River imprints” on international cruises.
In the coming time, Quang Yen will continue to implement synchronous solutions aiming to develop ecotourism products attracting more tourists to the locality.
