(TITC) - In recent years, Da Nang City has focused on developing green tourism based the favorable natural conditions with mountainous areas and nice beaches. The green tourism development is considered as the right choice of the Da Nang authorities and investors when mobilizing tourism resources in mountains and sea areas to orient sustainable tourism development.

Immersed in nature with green spaces
According to Da Nang Newspaper, Da Nang has developed many eco-tourist sites providing a variety of tourism products associated with nature and the environment, creating many opportunities for tourists to explore and relax. Number of typical ecological tourist sites includes Hoa Phu Thanh, Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park, Ngam Doi and Suoi Hoa (all in Hoa Phu Commune, Hoa Vang District); and Tien Sa in Son Tra District, etc.
Hoa Phu Thanh develops tourism relying on nature to offers many unique tourism products and services for visitors such as the thrilling waterfall slide game (rafting), rowing, zipline, shooting magic crossbow... Visitors are interested as relaxing in nature while soaking their feet in the cool stream and experiencing fish foot massage. Another attractive activity is a waterfall slide game by rubber boat with journey overcoming 3km rapids with different heights. Hoa Phu Thanh uses stored water to push the boat away to limit the usage of machinery, in order to reduce released pollutants.
As for Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park, this is a complex for entertainment and health care. The main product is Huyet Long Ho with a natural hot mineral pool surrounded by lush green trees, creating a feeling of being lost in a maze of mountains and forests. Besides, Nui Than Tai also has bungalows (wooden houses) associated with green nature.
For many hotels in Da Nang, green space designs become a sustainable solution for every hotel, and meet the popular trend of tourism. Environmentally friendly architecture can be seen in the hotels such as: Condotel Babylon Garden, Greenery (in Ha Bong Street, Son Tra District), Chicland Hotel (in Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Son Tra District). Many hotel apartments, homestays in Son Tra District have used many objects made of natural materials and brought green trees to the rooms...
Improving marine environmental protection
Along with ecological tourist sites in mountainous areas, Da Nang City also pays attention of tourism development in beaches and Son Tra peninsula, especially ensuring safety and environmental sanitation for people and tourists, mitigating negative impacts on the marine environment.
In the summer, people and visitors usually pour to the beaches. In order to ensure the safety for everyone and preserve the green-clean-beautiful beach environment, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches has strapped safe bathing areas and deployed regular rescue operations, propagated people to bathe in the allowed areas, supervised all cleaning activities on the beaches, installed public trash bins and mobilized private service business groups to install more trash cans.
Da Nang has implemented the program "Clean up Son Tra", in which propagating to raise awareness of community on environmental protection, thereby conserving biodiversity and protecting wildlife in Son Tra Peninsula, minimizing environmental pollution caused by waste, especially plastic waste.
In the year 2021, Da Nang will periodically organize the program in the peak tourist season from March to September with different themes. At the end of last March, the first program was organized with the theme "Clean up Son Tra - For a Green Son Tra" at Bai Chay area in Son Tra Peninsula. After 4 days of launching, nearly 500 volunteers registered to participate from Duy Tan University; University of Economics, University of Da Nang and associations, groups including Son Tra clean-up group, Hai Chau group, Greentrip, Eco Station, Hand-in-hand group, GEA, Danang runner. Volunteers participated in cleaning up on the routes from Mieu Doi to the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort area, Tien Sa route, etc.
At a conference on tourism in early April 2021, Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh said that the department has carried out a series of communication activities, reporting on people's daily life, inviting KOL (famous, influential persons) to experience tourism services to witness safety Da Nang.
To meet the needs of visiting and swimming, at the end of this April, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches will launch the program "My An Night Beach" with fun activities and recreations at My An beach such as outdoor stage, traditional massage on the beach, film projection on the sea...
These are tourist activities associated with the preservation and protection of natural resources. Through developing environmentally friendly tourism products, contributing to minimizing the negative impacts on the natural landscape, Da Nang aims to develop sustainable tourism.
