Located in the Truong Son mountain range 30 km to the south-west of the centre of Da Nang city, at an altitude of 1487m above sea level, the Ba Na mountains are considered a "green lung" of central Vietnam with 544 sorts of high-level flora, 256 types of animals, in which there are 6 flora and 44 fauna of being precious listed in Vietnamese Redbook.
The temperature in Ba Na only varies from 17 to 20°C. In one day in Ba Na, the four seasons fully appears: spring in the morning, summer at noon, autumn in the afternoon, winter at night. The difference between Ba Na and Da Lat is light rains. From May to August, the average temperature in central of Viet Nam is 320C but in Ba Na, it is only from 17 to 200C, and 150C at night.
One more particular characteristic is that the clouds are at the mid-height of the mountain, so the peaks are always clear. Ba Na has very beautiful forests with deep green pine-covered hills.
With fresh, clean atmosphere, the area plays an important role in environmental protection and climate regulation. It is also a place for scientific research and eco-tourism development of Da Nang.
Modern facilities were installed gradually including electricity, water, public toilets, markets, an abattoir, a medical facilities, hostels, telegraph centers and security and police station to serve local daily living as well as tourist activities.
In addition, Ba Na cable car system was built in March 25, 2009 and was recognized two Guinness World Records at that time: the world’s longest single-cable car system (5,042.62 m long) and the world’s biggest height gap between its departure and arrival stations (1,291.81 meters high). It is convenient for tourist and local people to move from the foot of mountain to the peak.
Furthermore, there are many beautiful villas as well as new hotels and restaurants hiding under the trees overlooking to the deep valley.
Endowed with a vast area and original nature, Ba Na is an attractive destination for picnics and natural discovery.
Coming to this place, visitors will have chance to admire a lot of pretty villas, newly built hotels, and bungalows here. Each one has its own flower garden with many types of aristocratic flower that Frenchmen left during the past 50 years.
