The opening of Bamboo Airways’ office in Australia will serve to greatly enhance the firm’s competitiveness in the aviation market, whilst simultaneously contributing to popularizing the image of Vietnam among international friends.
The statement was made by Truong Phuong Thanh, deputy general director of Bamboo Airways, during the inauguration ceremony of the airline’s representative office at Sydney International Airport on November 9.
Thanh emphasised that the opening of the office also marks an important milestone for the company as it strives to meet its goal of expanding the international flight network and upgrading high-quality aviation services, as well as fully tapping into the potential of aviation transportation in the Oceanian region.
Greg Botham, chief commercial director at Sydney Airport, noted co-operation with Bamboo Airways will provide a solid foundation for the airport as it seeks to better serve the travel demand of customers between Australia and Ho Chi Minh City in the future.
Bamboo Airways has continuously carried a number of activities in an attempt to quickly conquer the potential market.
Since February 19 the airline has put into operation a series of regular direct flights connecting Vietnam and Australia using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner wide-body aircraft.
Accordingly regular direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne and Sydney operate with a frequency of two round-trip flights per week, while the direct route between Hanoi and Melbourne operates with a frequency of one round-trip flight per week.
These efforts by Bamboo Airways aim to achieve the goal of increasing the scale of its international flight network to 40 routes this year.
Apart from exploiting routes to Oceania, the airline has also opened new routes to destinations in Northeast Asia, such as the Republic Korea, Japan, and Taiwan (China), those in Southeast Asia, such as Singapore and Thailand, and those in Europe, such as Germany and the UK.
In the near future, the carrier will continue to focus on developing long-distance international direct flights to connect key airports around the continent, thereby turning Vietnam into an aviation gateway of the Southeast Asia and Asian region.
