The Trung Trac high-speed ferry serving the Da Nang - Ly Son waterway tourism route, on Sunday, conducted a sea trial to Quang Ngai Province’s Ly Son Island from the CT15 inland wharf, the city’s Son Tra Peninsula, instead of the Song Han (Han River) Port as previously.

Earlier, in late April, the Phu Quoc High Speed Boat JSC (Phu Quoc Express) put the high-speed ferry service into operation on the Da Nang-Ly Son route departing from the Song Han Port in the city.
The port is a convenient location to pick up and drop off passengers. However, when moving through Mui Nghe near the Son Tra Peninsula to go around to the sea mouth, the ferry often faces big waves, which causes boat passengers to get seasick and adversely affect the rest of the journey.
Additionally, the change of the departure station in Da Nang from the Han River Port to the CT15 inland wharf helps shorten the route to just over 2 hours instead of more than 3 hours as before.
With the change of departure station, the new one-way ticket price is expected to fluctuate between VND360,000 and VND450,000 per person instead of VND590,000-VND720,000 as before. The shortening of travel time also helps passengers enjoy the scenery of many central regional localities.
The Phu Quoc Express said that it is carrying out procedures to change the name of the Trung Trac high-speed ferry to the Da Nang Express ferry. The Da Nang Express ferry is set to resume its service to serve local residents and tourists in early 2023.
