(TITC) - On 20th January, many foreign tourists from embassies, diplomatic agencies, international organisations and guests from other countries currently living and working in Ha Noi, along with a large number of travel businesses in the Capital, had a pleasurable experience trip to enjoy programme “Vietnamese village Tet” 2024 at Duong Lam Ancient Village (Son Tay Town, Ha Noi).

The programme is coordinated by the People's Committee of Son Tay Town and Ha Noi Promotion Agency (HPA) to celebrate the New Year of 2024. Besides, Duong Lam Ancient Village also welcomed about 15 thousand visitor arrivals to experience "Vietnamese Village Tet".
The space of Duong Lam Ancient Village during the "Vietnamese Village Tet" is filled with Tet colours, especially the main highlights such as: The village gate, Mong Phu communal house, old houses, Doai Creative and Doai Community spaces... brightly coloured with Tet flower pots, peach blossom branches, parallel sentences, and Tet decorations. Many foreign tourists also wore Vietnamese ao dai, blending into traditional Vietnamese culture.
The program was organised with many diverse activities, including a sample route to fully experience the traditional beauty of Vietnamese Tet with a traditional Tet market space, ethnic art performances at Mong Phu communal house yard; organised "check-in" at special spots in the village; organised space and booths to introduce local specialty products, handicraft products, and craft villages.
At the programme, foreign tourists were also excited about the space to experience traditional Tet culture (Calligraphy scholar, To he (kneading coloured dough into coloured paste animals, flowers, etc.), peeling daffodils), and experience traditional folk games such as: cockfighting, catching loach in jars, blindfolded and smash pot... and traditional customs during the traditional Tet holiday such as: New Year's Eve ceremony, lucky money giving, carp release... at ancient houses. The programme also introduced Tet cuisine, displays Tet feasts of Duong Lam people (chung cake, Mia chicken, roasted meat...); Experience wrapping banh chung, wrapping pork rolls... on Tet.

In addition, the programme also introduced and offered experiences traditional crafts and handicraft products, including: Traditional soy sauce making space of Mr. Ha Huu The's family; Lacquer products workshop and Craft Village space of artisan Nguyen Tan Phat; Doai Creative and Doai Community spaces by architect Khuat Van Thang. At the Mong Phu Village gate area, an exhibition of paintings and artworks on the topic of Duong Lam Ancient Village and tourist attractions in the town took place.
Head of the Duong Lam Ancient Village Relics Management Board Mr. Nguyen Dang Thao said: With the meaning of traditional cultural values, the programme created great attraction for attendees. In particular, foreign visitors participating in experiencing Tet customs expressed their excitement, because this was an opportunity for them to understand traditional Tet and Vietnamese culture better.
The programme "Vietnamese Village Tet" 2024 took place over two days 20th and 21st January (i.e. the 10th and 11th days of the 12th month of the lunar calendar). This is the third year the programme has been organised to promote traditional Vietnamese cultural values, especially Vietnamese Tet customs.
