The apricots growing village in Tan Tay commune was recognized as a craft village in 2020. The village started to grow apricots in 2004 because Mr. Tran Van Thong brought apricot seeds from Ben Tre to plant in Hamlet 4, Tan Tay Commune and achieved high economic efficiency. Up to now, Tan Tay has more than 400 ha with more than 260 households growing apricots.
Apricots grown in Tan Tay have strong roots, beautiful shape, are popular with the market and have a price of 1 - 3 million VND per 4 years old tree. In the village, there are many high value apricot trees, ranging from a few hundred million dong to more than 1 billion dong per tree.

At the end of 2022, the Provincial People's Committee approved the Project to develop apricots growing villages in Tan Tay commune, Thanh Hoa district, Long An province in association with Long An tourism development until 2030. The project aims to develop craft village in association with the National Target Program on New Rural Construction and the One Commune One Product Program; improve the value of craft village products; increase income for the local community; and at the same time bring high added value to eco-tourism combined with agriculture.
