Located in Da Tong Commune, Dam Rong District, Lomburr Mountain lies approximately 70 kilometers from Dalat. In the K’Ho language, “Lomburr” means “high mountain,” a name reflecting its cultural significance for the local K’Ho ethnic community. Long before it became a trekking hotspot, Lomburr served as a vital trade route, connecting this remote village with the vibrant centers of Lac Duong and Dalat. For generations, the K’Ho people crossed its rugged terrain to exchange crops and livestock for essentials.
The Lomburr trekking trail stretches nearly 7 kilometers, with a round-trip distance of about 11 kilometers. The journey takes around 8 hours, ideal for beginner to intermediate trekkers. Starting at the foot of the mountain, the trail winds through pine forests, dense tropical greenery, and grassy hills, culminating at the summit. For those seeking a full experience, camping overnight allows for a magical view of the morning clouds blanketing the peaks.

The trek to Lomburr Peak takes adventurers through an ever-changing landscape, beginning with expansive pine forests that gradually give way to dense tropical jungle. As trekkers climb higher, the air cools, and vibrant wildflowers appear along the trail, adding bursts of color amid the lush greenery. The journey is punctuated by serene streams, perfect spots for a peaceful rest. Camping atop Lomburr is a unique experience. The fresh mountain air and high altitude make it ideal for “cloud hunting,” where fog and mist roll over the landscape, creating an ethereal atmosphere that makes the trek to the peak even more rewarding.
The best time to visit Lomburr is during the dry season, from December to April, when clear skies, cooler temperatures, and dry trails make the hike enjoyable and perfect for open-air camping. The rainy season, from May to November, presents a more challenging trek, with muddy paths, slippery trails, and increased mosquito activity, requiring extra caution and preparation.
