(TITC) - On 27th December, in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province, the Closing Ceremony of the Visit Vietnam Year - Binh Thuan 2023 took place.

Mr. Doan Anh Dung, Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People’s Committee said, there were 208 events at national and international scales; 11 activities at the national scale; 164 events and activities held by 41 provinces and cities took place in the Visit Vietnam Year 2023. In which, Binh Thuan organised more than 30 events, contributing to spreading the role of tourism in the national economy as well as the socio-economic development of Binh Thuan Province.
For the first time, the province welcomes more than 8.5 million visitor arrivals with the total tourism receipts of more than VND23,000 billion, nearly doubled compared to 2022 and named in the list of 9 provinces and cities with the highest tourism receipts in the country, contributing to the recovery and development of the tourism industry, introducing and promoting image of the country and people of Vietnam to friends everywhere.

Binh Thuan's successful organisation of the Visit Vietnam Year 2023 contributes to the overall success of Vietnamese tourism in 2023. The series of events in the Visit Vietnam Year 2023 organised with unique and novel features, bringing the typical strengths of Binh Thuan Province, has created excellent social effects, contributing to meeting and improving the cultural and spiritual life of local people; promote and spread tangible and intangible cultural values, resources and unique tourism products to friends and domestic and international tourists, especially raising awareness of develop green tourism; contributing to further enhancing the position and image of Binh Thuan Province to promote tourism recovery and development.
Speaking at the Closing Ceremony, MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong recognized and praised the efforts of provinces and cities, especially the initiative, creativity and determination of Binh Thuan Province. As the host locality, Binh Thuan has contributed to stimulating tourism demand, promoting communication, and introducing the destination of Binh Thuan in particular and Vietnam in general in the activities of the Visit Vietnam Year 2023.
Throughout the 9 months of implementing the Visit Vietnam Year 2023, with unique and attractive content, events and activities within the framework, have been successfully organised with a series of events, forums, festivals and activities in Binh Thuan Province in particular and across provinces and cities nationwide in general. Activities are implemented in many forms, evenly distributed throughout the months of the year, diverse in content and implementation methods, applying digitization and digital technology in activities is paid attention and promoted, worthy of regional, central and international scales. Events and activities of the Visit Vietnam Year 2023 have created positive effects, attracting the attention of all walks of life, mobilising community strength in promoting tourism to recover quickly, develop effectively and sustainably across the country. The successful results of the Visit Vietnam Year 2023 have positively impacted the recovery of Vietnam's tourism industry in general and Binh Thuan tourism in particular.

In 2023, Vietnam welcomed more than 12.5 million international visitor arrivals and 108 million domestic tourist trips; total tourism receipts is estimated at VND672 trillion. Particularly for Binh Thuan Province, this is also the first time Binh Thuan Province has entered the list of 9 provinces and cities nationwide with total tourism receipts of over VND10,000 billion.
Congratulations to Dien Bien Province for hosting the Visit Vietnam Year 2024, MOCST’s Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong believes that with national scale, diverse content and especially promoting cooperative links in tourism development, the Visit Vietnam Year 2024 will encourage localities and destinations across the country to effectively implement action plans on accelerating recovery and developing effective and sustainable tourism.

The ceremony of handing over the Visit Vietnam Year 2024 flag to Dien Bien Province also took place. The Visit Vietnam Year - Dien Bien 2024 is a typical cultural - economic - social event of national and international scale, especially associated with the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (7th May 1954 - 7th May 2024).

At the Closing Ceremony, a unique and elaborately staged art programme with the theme “Binh Thuan - Green tourism comes together, Desire to shine” took place with 3 chapters: Binh Thuan - Green tourism comes together; The moment of transferring the role of hosting the Visit Vietnam Year 2024 to Dien Bien Province, and the desire to shine in the East Sea.
